A very dramatic and somber score, that is packed with emotion and features some outstanding action cues. The mood it establishes is wonderful, a fusion of Japanese instrumentation (including prominent usage of taiko drums) with a rich tapestry of string instruments. It's more restrained than a lot of Zimmer's work, but if you're open to exploring his more pensive side, it's a deeply rewarding journey.
